Project work for BAG mbH, Frankfurt/M., an order and payment clearing house for the German book trade

Our task was to reengineer the business processes of BAG's order clearing (IBU, Informationsverbund Buchhandel). Based on the results several organizational modifications were proposed, and an order management system for foreign orders was implemented, including a TCP/IP-based tie-in into the already existing mini-computer landscape. It was therefore made possible to process the daily orders without an increase in manpower despite an increase in volume of several 100 percent, while at the same time increasing transaction speed and reliability.
